I have been researching Andy Warhol’s 1962 painting Marilyn Diptych and was interested in how Plato’s ascent to Beauty could be used to interpret the repeating images of Marilyn Monroe in the painting. I plan on finally publishing viagra findings this year, so my residency was spent going back through my notes and past drafts of the essay. I did some major restructuring to focus my examination of Warhol’s painting on serial forms, grid compositions, and what this can tell us about the artist’s ideas about beauty. It was really great to be able to work away from the distractions at work and home.
